Liverpool went to Istanbul for the match with Galatasaray from the #2 of the Champions League. The fans of the Turks displayed several banners related to the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

The fans of the “Cim Bomb” group showed their solidarity towards the Palestinian victims of the armed conflict between Israel and Palestine, which broke out in 2023 in the Gaza strip, a territory played throughout history by the two parties.

The fans of the Turks displayed several banners during the match in stage #2 of the Champions League. “Free Palestine (No Release Palestine)”, “Let Gaza Babies live (No Leave the babies in Palestine to live)”, “If Jerusalem is not free, the World is Captive (no if Jerusalem is not free, the world is captive)”, “Yemek Yok! Su Yok! “Humanity Lost Conscience in Gaza (no humanity has lost its consciousness in Gaza)” were the main messages of the Ultra in Galatasaray.

Also, Ultras Aslan, the group of Galatasaray, lamented the death of Diogo Jota, the former player of Liverpool who died this summer in a car accident.

Israel remains in UEFA competitions, although there have been pressures to be excluded after the conflict in Gaza

Despite the political pressures from several countries to ban Israel from UEFA and FIFA competitions, the news is for the country that was the opponent of the Romanian national in the Euro 2024 preliminaries.

The press in Israel wrote that the last discussion did not take into account the exclusion of the country from the competitions, and for the moment the danger has passed.

The decision that it will not act against Israel was also communicated to Maccabi Tel Aviv, which continues its course in the Europa League and is to face Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday, in the second stage of the competition.

Although there has been political pressure from countries such as Turkey, Ireland and Slovenia, UEFA has so far stated that the situation of Israel remains in competitions. Pressures have also existed from outside Europe: UN rapporteurs have requested both UEFA and FIFA to prohibit Israel to participate in competitions.
