Horror moments for two couples of tourists in Africa: An elephant got on the boats, hitting a woman

Two couples from the UK and the US, in a boat tour on the Okavango Delta in Botswana, were attacked on Saturday, September 27, by an elephant. The animal overturned their canoes and struck one of the women.

In the images published on social networks you can see how the guides are desperate to move away from the angry elephants, as one of them uses the tube and the corners to overturn the canoes.

The four tourists on both canoes are thrown into the Delta crocodiles, while the two guides seem to abandon them and run to the shore.

At first, the elephant seems to have stopped from attacking, but a second video shows how it turns and crumbles on one of the women. He hit her painfully with the horn on the back, missing it with both corners, but slams it underwater. It survived only because the elephant lost it under the cloudy water and failed to step on it, stopping after 10 seconds.

The incident took place on Saturday, on World Tourism Day.

Three companies operating tourist canoe Makoro in Delta did not specify who organized the trip, but a receptionist said: “It was a group of British and American tourists. Many expensive equipment and phones were lost or damaged, but it is a blessing that no one has been seriously injured, wild animals can be very unpredictable. “

In July, a group of British tourists had a similar experience in the Delta, when their boat was too close to an elephant chicken female.

There are thousands of elephants in the Okavango Delta, which attracts about two million tourists annually.

Male elephants can reach 4 meters high and run up to 40 km/h, and their population is 415,000, which makes endangered species. Kill about 500 people a year.
