In January – March 2026, thanks to a special online service, KrasRussian Railways employees returned almost 300 forgotten items to long-distance train passengers.

Most often, bags, documents, electronic gadgets and chargers were left in the carriages. However, there were also unusual finds: the conductors discovered and returned to the owners a mink coat, a hammer drill and a “magic wand” forgotten in the carriages.

To find things left on the train, you must fill out an electronic application on the Russian Railways website in the “Services” section. In the application, the passenger indicates his name, ticket and passport number, telephone number and email, and will also need to describe the things and the place in the carriage where they were supposedly left. You can submit your application within 30 days from the start of your trip.

After processing the request, the information is checked against the database of found items. If there is a match, the passenger will be asked to identify their belongings from photographs. Notification of search results is sent to the email specified in the application.

Please note that the service is “Search for Lost Items”. valid for 7 years. Over the past three years alone, over 4 thousand lost items have been returned to passengers on the Krasnoyarsk Railway with its help.

An updated format for the service is currently being tested, which makes the search process even faster and more convenient. Applications are now sent directly to the train manager and conductor. This allows you to start searching already on the route, without waiting for the train to arrive at the final station, as was previously the case.
