In the Republic of Tuva, in October 2025, the Russian Buddhist University will be opened. He will work with the largest monastery in the country “Tuben Ling Ling” in Kyzyl, TASS reports with reference to the head of the republic Vladislav Khovalyga.
He explained that the educational institution has already received an appropriate license.
“Buddhist education and education for our republic are of great importance. Under the monastery “Tuben Ling Ling”, a training center for spiritual education for schoolchildren has already been opened. And in October of this year, the Russian Buddhist University will open in the same monastery, ”said Vladislav Khovlyg.

According to the head of Tuva, students are already underway. They will study the philosophy of Buddhism, iconography and medicine.
Recall that the monastery complex “Tuben Sharub Ling” (Tib. “The monastery of the explanation and practice of the teachings of the Buddha Shakyamuni”) was opened in Kyzyl in 2023. This is the largest Buddhist cult structure in Russia. It contains an important relic for Buddhists – a particle of the relics of the “Sugata Body”, which is placed in the heart of the statue of the Buddha Shakyamuni. The relics similar in uniqueness are now stored only in single monasteries of Tibet and India. In 2024, during his visit to Tuva, the Monastery was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
