Sales are clearly falling – in six years by half
Brands belonging to the Stellantis group are experiencing a clear regression of popularity. According to the data of the European ACEA Association, During the first eight months of 2025, 1.14 million cars produced by the concern were registered in countries belonging to the European Union – by 8.9 percent. less than in the same period last yearU, and nominally by 111.5 thousand pieces. In two years, the reduction was 11.8 percent. and nominally over 153 thousand copies.
For comparison, the entire market has scored a symbolic decrease of 0.1 percent during the year. In turn, the largest rivals of Stellantis: Volkswagen and Renault wrote on their account an increase in the number of registrations by 4.1 and 5.8 percent, respectively. r/r.
Another comparison looks even more dramatic for Stellantis. During the first eight months of 2019, i.e. before the merger of the PSA group with Fiat and Chrysler, the brands belonging to them, they noted nearly 2.4 million registered copies – over twice as much as in 2025.
Of the brands belonging to the group, only Alfa Romeo recorded an increase in sales and the number of registrations in the analyzed period. However, this is not a key brand for the concern. From the beginning of the year, about 38.2 thousand have been registered in the European Union. copies (+35.8 percent y/y).
Among the volume of much larger Stellantis brands The number of registration of Fiat (179.6 thousand and -19 percent y/y) and Opel (208.6 thousand and -11.8 percent y/y) dropped the most.
French fondness gives oxygen
The two most popular brand brands: Peugeot and Citroen recorded a reduction by 0.6 and 8.3 percent, respectively. per year.
In their case, the French market remains still mainly due to the sentiment. The third most frequently registered car over the Seine in 2025 is the Citroen C3, and the fourth Peugeot 3008. The top ten still included Peugeot 208 and its electric version.
In Poland, the three most popular Stellantis brands occupy the lower part of the top twenty brands. Based on the data of the Polish Automotive Industry Association, from the beginning of the year to the end of August in Poland was registered in Poland 6516 Peugeots (+4 percent y/y), 5860 Opel (-15.6 percent y/y) and 5849 Citroen (+16.9 percent y/y) And their total share in the new car market on the Vistula was only 4.8 percent (-0.3 pp. y/y).
Stellantis brands are even worse in Poland among individual clients. They are in vain to look among the top twenty models, where there was a place for three brands from China: MG, Omoda and BAIC.
