Israel's prime minister will not enter Slovenia. Lublana exacerbates the course towards Netanyahu


This decision is another action of Slovenia aimed at Israel's policy in the context of the conflict in the Gaza Strip for almost two years. Lublana remains one of the sharpest critics of Israeli activities in the region. Earlier in the capital has taken a number of decisive steps, including the imposition of an embargo on weapon trade with Israel and a ban on the import of goods from the occupied areas.
In recent years, Slovenia has been consistently on the side of Palestine. In June 2023, this country officially recognized Palestinian statehood, becoming one of the first Member States of the European Union taking such a definite position. As early as in July of the same year, the status of undesirable persons in Slovenia was received by the Israeli Minister of Finance Becalel Smoticz and the Minister of National Security ITAMAR BEN GWiR.

Slovenia talks about genocide
The President of Slovenia Natasza Pirc Musar also spared no sharp words towards Israel's actions. Performing last year, she described the shares of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip as “genocide”. These words, like the recent moves of its country's authorities, have effectively attracted the attention of the international community.
The context of the case should not be forgotten. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant of Benjamin Netanyahu and the then Israeli defense minister Joawa Galant. Both were accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in connection with the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, conducted for almost two years.
Data published by Palestinian sources indicate that as a result of the war, more than 65,000 have died. Palestinians, of which the vast majority are civilians. Human rights organizations alert that the actual number of victims may be even higher. Israel's military operation began in response to the Hamas attack of October 2023, in which about 1.2 thousand lost life. people, and over 250 were abducted by the Palestinian combat organization.
