eMAG announced that it will organize Black Friday 2025 on November 7, earlier than other years. The first Black Friday at eMAG was in 2011, on November 25, and since then it has been moved to the first part of the month. eMAG does not announce the time of day when Black Friday 2025 begins, but in 2024 the start was at 7.14.
In Romania, Black Friday is three weeks faster than the “original”, in the US.
Emag chiefs said last year that they organize Black Friday so quickly for all packages to reach customers until Saint Andrew and the National Day, a mini -vacation, when many people are gone.
eMAG has not yet announced data on Black Friday 2025 offers, but generally the average announced discounts over the past years were 30-35%
EMAG customers ordered, by Black Friday 2024, products worth almost 900 million lei in 17 hours, an increase of 22% compared to 2023. The share of card payments reached 73% of total orders.
Last year, almost 650,000 customers ordered the eMAG on Black Friday.
In 2023, Black Friday started at eMAG at 7.15, while in 2022 the start was given at 7.20, and in 2021, five minutes later (7.25).
Black Friday is in Romania “synonym” with eMAG and eMAG increases reflect the general growth of the phenomenon. In 2011 eMAG sold 8 million euros, in 2013 of 23 million euros, in 2016 of 300 million lei, and in 2022, of 644 million lei.
In the US, Black Friday is always at the end of November, and in 2025 it will be on the 28th.
