The Iranian oil minister Mohsen Paknedżad assured on Wednesday that the introduction of UN sanctions would not cause “new, burdensome restrictions” regarding oil exports from Iran.

– If we find ourselves in a situation that requires new decisions, we will have ready plans – said the minister in an interview with journalists after Wednesday's meeting of the government.
Paknedżad announced that the export of Iranian oil to China will be continued – said the Reuters agency.
In recent years, we have dealt with such harsh restrictions, resulting from unfair and unilateral American sanctions that – in practice – (UN sanctions) will not significantly affect this situation – said the minister.
The UN Security Council voted on September 19 to impose sanctions on Iran, which were frozen in exchange for limiting the Tehran nuclear program. Great Britain, France and Germany launched the “Snapback” mechanism, introduced as part of the 2015 nuclear agreement, claiming that Iran is violating his resolutions. If the Iranian side does not convince members of the Security Council to change his position, the sanctions will come into force again on Sunday, September 28. (PAP)
