Hound and scuffles in Moscow. Wives and mothers of Russian soldiers are furious. “They gave their homeland so much that she would never be able to repay them!”
Three years ago, Vladimir Putin announced “partial mobilization”, in which 300,000 hit the front. men. Many of them thought they would serve a year and return home. It did not happen. It turned out that “rotation is not foreseen”. Mothers and wives mobilized at the news of this raised the alarm: “It looks like they became hostages” – they wrote in letters to the defense minister Sergei Szojgu, demanding the return of loved ones.
On September 21, on the third anniversary of the mobilization, a woman appeared under the building of the Ministry of Defense in Moscow. It was a mother of a mobilized from Nowosibirsk – many people call her mother Lida. She kept a small poster in her hands. There were no slogans or appeals on him. Only dates: 21/09/2022 – 21/09/2025. To strengthen the message, she attached to a sports sweatshirt, which she was wearing, three medals she got: “For supporting a special military operation”, “For helping the front” and “defender of the homeland”.
She has not managed to develop the poster well when two policemen with weapons came to her. They said that she would finish the action and promise that if they were hidden in the poster, they would not stop it. So she put him in his backpack. In the same second they grabbed her and shouting: “Put her, k*rwa!”, They threw them into a police car.
– They stopped her very brutally, in front of witnesses. They broke her sweatshirt. They began to push me back
– says activist Paulina Safronowa in social media, who accompanied Lidia.
Within three years, the movement of mobilized wives went through the phenomenon to the organization sentenced to oblivion. He was broken and demoralized. The Russians are afraid to support him, even if they consider women's demands right.
“They gave their homeland so much that it will never be able to repay them!”
The movement of mobilized wives was born in 2023, when it became clear that “mobiki” (mobilized Russians) would fight to the end and no one would let them go home. On November 7, 2023, the wives of the soldiers came to the communist party of the Russian Federation (KPFR) at Teatralny Square in Moscow with a request to allow a mobilized return to their homes. Since then, they have regularly organized actions and flash mobs. They also collected thousands of signatures in the appeal to “recognize the service of the Russians as a held” and demobilize the survivors.
For a long time, wives and mothers tried not to “expose” and not risk breaking the war regulations of the Penal Code, whose number has increased rapidly in recent years. They also ostentatiously demonstrated support for “Special Operation”. Some of their statements, however, sounded sharper than the slogans of anti -war marches organized abroad.
Satanist-Canal or recidivist are released after half a year, repenting for serial murders at a special military operation. However, the president has a sense of humor! What about our boys who are sitting there already in the fifteenth month? They gave their homeland so much that it will never be able to repay them!
– This is the fragment of the “Road home” movement, which was created shortly after the first rally.
After the action on Teatralny Square, all Russia heard about mobilized wives. At the end of November, their “Road home” channel had over 14,000. subscribers, and bold appeals were collected by hundreds of thousands of views.
Quite a radical “Road home” was only one of the projects. There were other fractions inside the movement, e.g. more moderate, focused around activist Olga Kac and her project “we will bring boys back”.
At the beginning, not only anti -war activists, but also people from the circles of power, sympathized with mobilized wives. They were warmly received by parliamentary parties (KPFR, new people), and some bloggers – like Anastazja Kaszewarowa – carefully supported them. Kaszewarowa often appealed to officials to establish a dialogue with the relatives of soldiers:
The girls are right. None of the rulers had the courage to meet them and talk. The topic of mobilization is very painful, a lot of problems, and they have already become a full -fledged army. They know and can do everything. Explain it to these women. Yes, it's hard to talk to them, I know it. But times are difficult. Why hurt them and fuel them even more? They want respect and dialogue
She wrote on a telegram.
A request for respect and dialogue is too much in Russia. Pro -government media began to intimidate the activists and throw them with mud. In May 2024, the Ministry of Justice recognized the “road to home” movement as “foreign agents”. His formal leader, Maria Andriejew, was also burdened with such a status. This eventually crossed out the chances of combining different factions. Both have fallen. “Road home” has been outlawed, and the Olga Kac project “we will bring the boys back” solved himself after the death of her brother on the front.
However, the most persistent women were still fighting. In June 2024, they came to the building of the Ministry of Defense, knelt and developed posters with a request to meet with the new defense minister Andriej Biełousow. Instead of him, however, General Colonel Aleksandr Borysienko came to them and accused them of “cooperation with opposition telegram channels”.
“Just a year ago, lonely protests were allowed”
In September, on the next anniversary of mobilization, close to a dozen activists organized a protest in front of the ministry building surrounded by provocateurs from “Volunteer Rota” [młodzieżowej organizacji patriotycznej]. Despite the threats and insults persisted until the evening, until the police took them. After two hours they were released. The only one from the patriotic camp that he felt sorry for them was the Privin Bloger Jegor Guzenko closely related to the Wagner group:
“I feel sorry for these girls. The questions that direct to the Ministry of Defense are completely justified and fair, but the authorities surrounded itself by OMON [jednostkami sił specjalnych działających w sytuacji niepokojów społecznych]. They took them like terrorists when they could just go out and talk to them “ He wrote on a telegram.
He kept silence this year. Perhaps because a year earlier he was accused of assaulting a policeman, and then signed a contract and went to the front to avoid prison. Since then, he has not spent publicly in such matters.
Now the security forces have ceased to enter into discussions not only with “angry patriots”, but from the families of soldiers.

“Just a year ago, lonely protests were allowed. Now they even took it” – write military relatives in social media.
This is also confirmed by the sources of “New Gazieta”, including Nina (changed name) – formerly an active traffic participant, today “set aside”, as she says about herself. Her husband was mobilized in the autumn of 2022. She is still on the front, but she sees no sense in the protests. As she says, she didn't even know that Lidia was preparing a protest on the anniversary of the mobilization:
– last year [21 września 2024 r.] We actively discussed it and decided that something had to be done. Now it's hard to contact anyone. This [protest] Probably her private initiative – she admits.
According to Nina, the police ratio to mobilized wives has actually changed – If they were rarely stopped and released after a few hours, now the officers “tighten the screw”:
– I went to protests myself. Maria Andriejew, before she became a “foreign agent”, stood with a poster at the Czerwony Square, where the law prohibits organizing protests (this area is protected at the president's residence). They wanted to stop her, they already grabbed her, but someone on the radio said: “Don't move this” – and let go. Now the approach has changed radically. Maybe they think that we are dangerous, although previous actions have shown that we do not pose any threat – says Nina.
According to her, the Lidia detained under the ministry was taken to a police station, where she would be a trial. “Earlier such situations did not take place,” says Nina.
“I hope they won't add her additional charges.” When stopped [służby bezpieczeństwa] They suggested that it was like “discreditation of the army” – he adds.
The mother of mobilized Lidia Jegorowa, detained during a lonely picket in Moscow, was released after two days. She promised to tell later about what had happened to her over the past two days and thanked everyone on the indifferent for support.
