“Since 2000, the autism rate has increased by over 400%”, Trump said.
He has announced that his administration will recommend women to limit the use of Tylenol (Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen) during pregnancy, writes The Guardian.
“Starting immediately, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will notify doctors that the use of acetaminophen or tylenol can be associated with a very high risk of autism.” Trump said, adding: “Tylenol taking is not good. ”
“For this reason, it is strongly recommended for women to limit the use of paracetamol during pregnancy, unless it is absolutely necessary from a medical point of view.” said the US president.
Trump also spoke of the collaboration with “These great doctors”, referring to members of his cabinet Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mehmet Oz. Mehmet Oz is a doctor, while Kennedy has no medical qualification.
