From Wednesday to Thursday at midnight, border crossings with Belarus will be opened – Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday before the meeting of the Council of Ministers. He added that if the need arises, the government would close them again.


From September 12, all border crossings with Belarus are closed until further notice. The suspension of the border traffic with the Republic of Belarus is in both directions – leaving Poland to Belarus and entering our country. Before the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced their opening again.
– I wanted to inform you about the decision together with the Minister of the Interior and Administration, which will issue (…) an appropriate regulation on the re -opening of border, rail and road crossings, those that were closed in connection with the maneuvers of the Written – said Prime Minister Tusk at the beginning of the government meeting.
He added that they would be opened at midnight from Wednesday to Thursday. He noticed that the 2025 rap exercises have ended, so the threats associated with the aggressive attitude of Poland's eastern neighbors decreased.
Considering, of course, the economic interests of Polish carriers, also PKP Cargo, decided that this preventive measure fulfilled its task – he explained.
The prime minister added that the tool – the possibility of closing border crossings – remains in the hands of the government all the time.
– If there is a need, if the tension or aggressive behavior of our neighbors increases, we will not hesitate and we will decide to close the passes again – he emphasized.
The Polish-Belarusian border was closed at midnight from Thursday to Friday (11/12 September) pursuant to the ordinance of the Minister of the Interior and Administration due to the Russian-Belarusian military maneuvers in the organized 12-16 September.

During national roads there are a total of six border crossings with Belarus. Four of them (at DK63 in Sławatycze, DK66 in Połowce, DK65 in Bobrowniki and DK19 in Kuźnica) remain closed. On the night of September 11-12, two open border crossings were closed: at DK2 in Terespol (passenger traffic) and on DK68 in corn (freight movement). Both are in the province Lublin.
Three railway border crossings for freight traffic were also closed: Kuźnica Białostocka-Grodno, Siemianówka-Swisłocz and Terespol-Bust.

The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński transferred on Tuesday on portal X that he signed a regulation restoring traffic at border crossings with Belarus. Earlier, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the opening of the borders is to take place from Wednesday to Thursday at midnight.
