The presidents Nicuşor Dan convened on Tuesday at the Cotroceni Palace, the leaders of the coalition. On the agenda of the discussions could be the sensitive topics that caused disputes in the coalition, including the capping of prices on the basic products and the expected decision of the Constitutional Court on the laws of the second measures to reduce the deficit, notes News.ro.

The Presidential Administration announced on Tuesday morning that President Nicuşor Dan will meet, from 11.00 am, with the leaders of the ruling coalition.

The agenda of the discussions was not communicated publicly, but the leaders of the parties could discuss with President Nicuşor Dan about the topics that caused disputes in the coalition, among which the capping of prices on the basic products and the expected decision of the Constitutional Court on the laws in the second package of measures to reduce the deficit.

The ruling coalition has a meeting on Tuesday, from 13:00, to the Government, in which the leaders of the PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR and the representatives of national minorities will discuss the extension of the ceiling of the commercial addition to the basic products and about the local public administration reform.

The ruling coalition must make a final decision regarding the extension or not the ceiling of the commercial addition to the basic products. While PSD has repeatedly said that it is necessary to extend the ceiling, arguing that the measure does not have a budget impact and that its stop will increase inflation, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has not agreed.

On Monday, PSD deputy Marius Budăi gave the deadline for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to make a decision on the ceiling of the commercial addition to the basic foods until Tuesday, otherwise the social democrats will propose in the Parliament in this regard to be voted until October 1.

The announcement of the PSD parliamentarian comes after, last Thursday, Bolojan said that this week a decision will be made in the ruling coalition on keeping or not to cap the commercial addition to the basic foods. “Here is the problem to have rational arguments, to see what the data are based on such a decision. Such decisions do not make them on the foot,” said the head of the Government.

Marius Budăi, former Minister of Labor in Dăncilă, Ciuca and Ciolacu governments, wrote on his Facebook page a critical message accusing Bolojan of “pulling time”, adding that “maybe the stake is elsewhere.”

The reform of the local public administration is another topic that will be approached in the Coalition on Tuesday. Here it is not expected to reach a final agreement, especially after the head of the Government did not reach a meeting with the representatives of the mayors last week.
