Danish media: The government is not able to accuse Russia
According to the “Berlingske” newspaper, the Denmark government is not able to accuse Russia of an incident. “The police announced at a press conference that a competent perpetrator stood behind the drones. This means that it could be a foreign state. Unmanned aerial vehicles behaved in such a way that they were detected” – emphasized.
The Politiken daily assessed similarly, recognizing the term “competent perpetrator” as a synonym of a state with significant resources, not private individuals. The author of the commentary reminded that the Danish authorities have long warned that Russia could carry out hybrid attacks on Denmark to cause anxiety in society and weaken the will to support Ukraine.
The “Berlingke” newspaper called these incidents “a real nightmare for the Danish authorities.” “There is a lack of effective defense against drones, especially in densely populated areas. The airport in Copenhagen has a radar that detects such objects, but the road is far from shooting down. It is both difficult and dangerous, so in this case the police decided to wait” – emphasized. Near the airport there are housing estates of single -family houses.
In Denmark, on July 1, the provisions enabling the army to “neutralize” foreign drones near military facilities and training grounds. In addition, civilian infrastructure managers, including airports and ports, are soon to obtain the right to neutralize “non -working facilities”. The bill in this matter is undergoing consultation.
