The opportunity to use the high -speed mobile Internet and fourth -generation communications were received by residents of about 270 settlements of Siberia. As part of the state program to eliminate the digital inequality, MegaFon at times expanded the network covering in the macro -region.
This year, the technical work on the installation of equipment covered all the regions of Siberia. The largest volume of events was performed in the Omsk and Novosibirsk regions, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Kemerovo region and the Altai Territory.
Most of the villages where the Megafon connection appeared – remote and small, less than 500 people live there. Such parameters are dictated by the conditions of the federal project “Elimination of digital inequality”, operating in Russia for more than 10 years.
At the new telecom objects, the operator involved a frequency range of ranges, providing uniform coating and stable data transfer speed. These parameters will allow local residents to comfortably use all digital services: from communication in instant messengers to applying for the necessary documents for the public services portal. Also, subscribers will be able to call using the technology of vote in the 4G network. Volte calls differ from ordinary ones in that they provide an instant connection and perfectly pure sound.
Thanks to the program and the joint work of Megafon with other operators, modern connection came to the sandstone of the Omsk region, where a little more than 40 people live, to the Kumalyr of the Altai Republic, surrounded by ancient mounds and inaccessible mountain villages of the Republic of Tyva.
“It is in such settlements that the company's services are most in demand, as residents are associated with the outside world and significantly increase their standard of living. Most services and goods are available only online. And with the advent of Megafon services, to the villagers, like residents of large cities, they become available online education, remote work and telemedicine. Last year, as part of the state project, the operator has already launched more than 400 telecom objects in extremely cold and impregnable places in the macro-region, occupying a quarter from the entire territory. In 2026, work in this direction will continue, ”said Dmitry Olovyannikov, director of the Siberian branch of MegaFon.
