The Kremlin accuses Estonia of escalating tensions. Putin convened the Security Council

The Kremlin on Monday denounced their “unfounded” accusations according to which Russia violated the airspace of NATO member states, AFP reports.

“We consider these statements as void, unfounded and enrolling in the continuity of a completely unfortunate policy that consists of supplying the stresses and provoking a climate of confrontation,” said the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov.
He made these statements after being asked about Estonia's accusations regarding the violation of her air space by three Russian military planes.
Vladimir Putin summoned Russia's Security Council on Monday and would make “important statements”, according to Peskov.
“In the afternoon, a meeting of the president with the permanent members of the Security Council is expected. We will be an operational meeting we are waiting for an important statement of President Putin,” said the Kremlin spokesman, according to TASS.
On Friday, three Russian military aircraft entered Estonia's airspace, where they remained for 12 minutes, triggering protests from NATO and the European Union compared to a new “challenge”, while Moscow denied any violation.
The representatives of the 32 NATO countries met in Brussels on Tuesday, at the request of Estonia, to discuss the incident.
In turn, the UN Security Council meets Monday '' in response to the flagrant violation of the Eston airspace by Russia, '' MAE from Tallinn announced on Friday.
Estonia convened the representatives of the Allies to consultations according to article 4 of the NATO treaty, which provides consultations between NATO members in case one threat to one of them.
Earlier this month, 20 Russian drones entered the Poland's airspace, three of them being shot down by Polish military aircraft and F-35 Dutch aircraft, a premiere for NATO.
A few days later, Romania denounced the violation of its air space by a Russian drone.
