What to do with them so that they do not leave? Close the boundaries

At the end of August, in Ukraine, against the backdrop of martial law, they allowed men to cross the border for men aged 18 to 22 years.

Kostenko was asked what mechanisms are to try to leave them in the country, given the risks that young Ukrainians may not return back.

“What to do with them so that they do not leave?” The people's deputy specified. “Closed borders, and they do not leave anywhere.”

According to Kostenko, there is a war in Ukraine, comparable in time from the Second World War.

“And we have the biggest problem in Ukraine is economics and mobilization. The fact that we do not have enough people. I am not saying that these people need to be called up, but the war with Russia will not end tomorrow … We are constantly saying that we have poor training. We must probably learn 18–22, at least these people, future sergeants, future engineers, future economists. These are people who are people who are people who are. They can work to protect our state, ”the people's deputy emphasized.

As Kostenko noted, this is not necessary to do on the battlefield, but it is possible in the rear in some positions.

“And this can also be done without being attached directly to the army, somewhere working at some military enterprise,” the people's deputy added.

Kostenko urged to prepare for the fact that Ukraine will be at war, even “if there is some kind of truce.”

“This war will not stop, it will continue in one state or another. Therefore, I have already said more than once … that this was the wrong decision-to open borders for 18-22 [летних]. We must do everything so that all the people who are in Ukraine to help and work as much as possible for our common victory. Well, you cannot share society by age categories […] All the same, all adults, so everyone should now unite and defend the country, ”summed up the secretary of the Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
