The infamous Krasnoyarsk boarding house for the elderly demanded that relatives urgently pick up the guests

In Krasnoyarsk, the management of the boarding house “Paradise Corner” on Academician Kirenskogo Street, 32M demanded that relatives urgently take their loved ones out.

A Krasnoyarsk resident, whose mother with dementia has been in an institution for more than four years, told Newslab about this. According to the man, he received a call today, April 3, in the afternoon and was told that he had to pick up the woman before 21:00. The Krasnoyarsk resident refused to do this, explaining that in such a period he would not be able to find a new place to accommodate his sick mother. According to his information, there are currently 20 people in the boarding house, 16 of whom relatives will not be able to quickly pick up.

Let us recall that in January of this year, information appeared in the media that in a boarding house on Academician Kirensky Street they could use physical force against guests and not provide them with medical care. The audit showed that the owners did not have the necessary permits to conduct activities and documents confirming the right to provide social services, and the living conditions of the elderly did not comply with sanitary standards and fire safety rules. In this regard, a criminal case was initiated under the article on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.

The prosecutor's office told Newslab that there is no court decision to close the boarding house yet. The department sent a letter to the Ministry of Social Policy to resolve the issue of resettling the guests.

The actions of the representatives of the boarding house are not related to any resolution – the management took measures independently. The fate of those guests whom relatives cannot quickly pick up remains unclear.
