A Polish real estate group hopes to counteract the decrease of the birth rate in the country by rewarding customers who conceive children in its hotels, AFP reports.
The Arche group, which owns 23 hotels and numerous buildings in Poland, said on its web website that the country is facing a demographic crisis produced by the constant decrease in the birth rate for 12 years.
In an attempt to reverse this trend, Arche has launched a stimulant program and offers “free special events”, such as a baptism, for customers who can prove to have conceived a child when they stayed in one of the group's hotels.
Couples are also offered a bonus of 10,000 zlots (about 11,900 lei) for children born after parents buy a home from the company.
The Arche Generations program is valid for “couples (man and woman)”, provided that at least one of the partners is an adult Polish citizen and live in the country.
Also, bonuses will be offered for Arche employees who have children.
At the end of June, the population of Poland was about 37.4 million inhabitants, with one million less than in 2015, according to the National Statistics Office (GUS).
In 2024, in Poland, the number of births was 157,000 lower than that of deaths, a tendency that is believed to continue in the coming years.
