The drama took place around 10 On Friday, September 12, in the village of Batterstown. On that day, the police and emergency services received a notification about the collision of a car with a cyclist. An unconscious 80-year-old was found on the spot. He was hospitalized, where he died soon. The vehicle that took part in the accident was gone.

Sergeant Eoin Treacy, who deals with the case, said that in the course of the investigation he managed to determine the perpetrator of the accident. He contacted then with a 42-year-old living in Poland. His report shows that the Pole decided that he would fly to Dublin and voluntarily give up.

The accused works for a courier company based in Ireland and Poland. He stays in this first country for 10 days and then returns to Poland. There is no permanent address in Ireland

As the Sergeant Treacy told, a Pole may be released from detention, which is 10,000. euro, or approx. PLN 42,600. The relatives of the accused have already committed to paying it.
