At the disappearance of a Romanian publication, message of the editor-in-chief

The journalists of the Panorama publication, part of the Zyx group, of which Hotnews also belongs, offered, one by onea message to the public, with the closing of the site. This is the article published by Alina Marculescu Matiș, editor-in-chief of the Panorama publication.

For me, it's not time to talk about what could have been, it was or no. I am gratefully separated from this editorial, to which I have the pride to have put the shoulder from the beginning.

The materials I had had the chance to make. I felt many of them like a privilege. I had the luxury of time and freedom of curiosity without limits. And, also importantly, the pampering of being able to take care not only by the background, but also of form. As a confectioner who decorates with his favorite cake.

This is how I discovered how the Romanians from the Diaspora patches of Europe brought in the villages and cities from which they left and thus changed entire regions. I have documented how life has evolved in Romania, since 1990, a story superimposed over that of my life, a man of age with free Romania. I wrote articles about the transition of Romania and the country's dream as outside, we repeatedly made the balance of our accession to the EU and the x -ray of the Romanian influence in the European institutions, the latter an almost non -existent subject.

Before closing, I could voice the sacrifices made by dozens of women, who spoke bravely about the huge price of in vitro fertilization, given that the state financial support is again blocked, and Romania risks being the only country in the EU without such a national program.

Beyond the ones I wrote, the articles I published, the colleagues who entrusted me their work and trusted that I will understand it and could help her become better, with stories, better said, better documented, with more playful titles or more creative visual packs.

The electrifying moments remain in which someone – ah, and when you were that someone! – He had a good idea and you could see how the eyes of all colleagues light up.

All the ideas abandoned now remain by the common exception, the siblings that have not passed the embryonic stage of the article, the plans of new topics, formed, rubrics, ambitions for “year”. Who knows, maybe some of them will reach you from elsewhere.

The days of Monday remain, with the meeting from 10.00, which often derailed, because, seeing us rarely face to face, we had too much to tell. The evenings in the garden or through a crunch in the city, a wine, a gossip from the previous jobs and a game for which, at first, we were too serious and cool to play it, but which, an hour later, laughed with tears. Santa secret gifts remain. The sweets that anyone brought in a job.

The colleagues with whom I hope to intersect in this small world, in which we look, cyclically, the place through various institutions and press dreams. And you, the ones we will look for as an interlocutors at the next article, no matter where you will find it.

Maybe next time we will convince you to come up with friends, to be even more, and stronger together.
