French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Paris, London and Berlin will activate a mechanism for reintroducing sanctions against Iran in relation to its nuclear program until the end of the month, according to an extract from an interview with an Israeli television and broadcast on Thursday, AFP reports.
The head of the French state was asked by a journalist of Canal 12 if the sanctions were reintroduced at the end of the month by the three countries negotiating with Tehran on his nuclear program. “Yes, I think so, because the last news I received from Iranians are not serious,” Macron replied.
“France has always been a very demanding actor, clear and coherent in the Iranian issue,” Macron said in this interview with English at Elysée Palace.

“And I think this is very important for your country and your people,” he added, in the context of his plan to recognize Palestine Monday, at the UN General Assembly, is very unpopular in Israel.
“I have never underestimated the risk of the nuclear bomb in Iran, but neither the risk of ballistic (Iranian) capabilities and regional destabilization coming from Iran, because they are not clear and do not assume any clear commitment,” said the French president.
“It is a European position and we worked with our British and German colleagues: we will apply the reintroduction of sanctions and this will be respected by all those who obviously approved this decision,” said Macron, referring to the term “Snapback”, the mechanism of reintroduction of the sanctions provided for by a resolution of the SECURITY.
