Robinson was detained on Friday, September 12, after a 33-hour roundup conducted by federal and state services. The breakthrough in the investigation occurred when Robinson's father recognized his son in the pictures published by the FBI. According to investigators, the man confronted his son, and then contacted the youth pastor, who informed about the case of US Marshals officers. Ultimately, the father convinced Robinson to voluntarily surrender to the police – which, according to the services, was crucial for the end of the raid.
