Closer to the entry into force of a new benefit. The senior voucher will help not only older people, but also relieve their families. The call for proposals will start in January. What conditions will have to be met to get a voucher? We answer.
Seniors and their relatives will soon be able to benefit from new support. This is a senior voucher. He has support families in organizing care for the elderly. It will also be a form of relieving children and grandchildren who often deal with it. Such care in many cases causes the need to limit professional work and is associated with the high costs of employing a guardian.
A form of financial support in such situations is to be a senior voucher. Older people are to receive per month up to PLN 2,150 per month, which corresponds to about 50 hours of specialist care.
As announced by the Ministry of Senior Policy, which is preparing this new instrument, the introduction of the voucher is to be the answer “to challenges related to the reconciliation of duties arising from work and assurance support that meets the needs of seniors by the family“.
Senior voucher: What can you spend money for?
The senior voucher is an activation solution. On the one hand, it will allow senior families to stay on the labor market, on the other, they will create jobs for guardians. Importantly, money They will not go to the hands of seniors. Instead, they will cover the costs of specific services related to care in the field of:
- daily help in satisfying basic life needs
- support in gaining access to health services
- primary hygiene care
- ensuring contacts with the environment
Who can use the senior voucher?
The amount that the senior will be able to receive will depend on the number of points awarded on the basis of a special questionnaire. This will be dealt with by the commune. It will implement the entire process of verification and granting vouchers alone or with the help of a selected entity.
Support is intended for people with over 75 years old, which have unmet needs in terms of basic everyday activities. They must be Poles. A chance for a voucher is given to people whose pension or disability pension and a care allowance will not exceed:
- PLN 3,500 gross in 2026
- PLN 4,000 gross in 2027
- PLN 4,500 gross in 2028
- PLN 5,000 gross from 2029 for the next years
Who can submit the application?
Importantly, the application for the use of a senior voucher should submit descendant senior, So, for example, a child or grandson – provided he is professionally active. In granting support, it will also be counting on Applicant's income criterion. His income cannot exceed:
- twice the minimum wage for work at a single -man farm
- three times the minimum wage in a multi -person farm, regardless of the number of people in the family
According to government plans, the minimum wage from 2026 is to be PLN 4,806 gross, which means that in the first of the above cases it is about PLN 9,612, and in the second – PLN 14,418 gross.
How many people will the voucher get and when will the recruitment start?
According to government estimates, a senior voucher could receive approx. 290 thousand people. Support would come into force in January next year – Then the call for proposals is to begin.
It is worth noting that the senior voucher It will not be combined with other care services or social assistance services, except for the care allowance.
