US President Donald Trump said on Friday that his patience with Russian President Vladimir Putin “is rapidly exhausted” and evoked the possibility of sanctions against Russian banks and the Russian oil sector, but without being firmly engaged, AFP notes.
The US president added, during a live interview in New York, for Fox News, that Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski must also be convinced to end the Ukraine conflict, triggered by Russian invasion in this country, Trump declaring: “It takes two to dance.”
“When Putin wanted to do it, Zelenski did not want. When Zelenski wanted, he didn't want a little,” Trump said about possible peace negotiations.
Asked during the live show “Fox and Friends” about the incursion of Russian drones into the Poland's airspace this week, Donald Trump said: “I don't want to defend anyone, but these (drones) were actually shot down.”
On Thursday, the US President, far from joining the protests from the European countries of NATO, considered that it could be a “mistake” from Moscow.

Asked what form the possible measures would take against Russia, Donald Trump said on Friday: “It will consist of them with sanctions against banks, as well as oil, and customs rates. But I did this before, I did a lot.”
Washington is ready to impose additional customs duties to Russian oil buyers, such as China and India, provided that the European Union will do the same to block Russia's war economy, an American official told AFP.
