Video Maia Sandu, support message for Nicușor Dan: “I admire your decency, resistance, respect for the truth. It is not easy in populist times.”

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, sent a message of support for Nicușor Dan on Tuesday, the independent candidate reached the second round of the presidential elections in our country, urging Moldovan citizens with dual citizenship to “protect what has already won Romania-but today.”

“These days I remember the period of the presidential elections of 2020, the second round. It was a strong national emotion. We all mobilized, with small, big, at home and in the diaspora. No one thought that people would vote in such a large number,” Maia Sandu said in a video published on his official Facebook page.

“Several polls showed that my opponent, a Kremlin -controlled character, would win the elections. No one believed that we will be able to raise a wave for an honest and free Moldova. But we succeeded,” continued Maia Sandu.

The President of the Republic of Moldova said that the 2020 victory was an important step towards the approach to the European Union, an objective made “including with the help of Romania”.

“We wanted to approach the European Union, where Romania is already. We wanted to break the Russian blackmail and we succeeded with the help of Romania. So much we learned from Romania, so much Romania inspired us,” she said.

“Now, Romania needs us. And Europe needs us in Romania.

At the end of the message, Maia Sandu expressed her support for the candidate Nicușor Dan: “Success, Nicușor Dan! I admire your decency, resistance, respect for the truth. It is not easy in populist times, but it is all the more important to do the right thing-for Romania and for the Republic of Moldova.”

“Success, Romania, our good sister! We count on you in Europe. And you, it matters us,” concluded Maia Sandu.
