66% advocate negotiations, and most of them believe that they need to begin “definitely.”
Only 7% of respondents did not decide on the answer.
Previously, the smallest support of the war from the Russians was observed in May 2025: 64% advocated peaceful negotiations and 19% for hostilities.
The share of supporters of peaceful negotiations is now higher among women (74%), youth under the age of 24 (80%), villagers (73%) and those who were affected by war (73%), Levada-Center writes.
The Levada Center conducted a sociological study from 19th to August 27 according to the representative all-Russian sample of the urban and rural population. 1613 people aged 18 years and older in 137 settlements were interviewed by personal interviews. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.
Context
Russia unleashed a war against Ukraine in 2014, occupying Crimea and part of the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. On February 24, 2022, Russia began a full -scale invasion of Ukraine from the northern, eastern and southern directions.
