North Korean leader Kim Jong has announced that his country will present a combined development policy and conventional military power in an important ruling party meeting, the official KCNA press agency, taken by Reuters, wrote on Saturday.
While inspecting research centers in the field of armament on Thursday and Friday, Kim said that “the 9th Congress of the Korean Workers Party will propose the concomitant development policy of nuclear forces and conventional armed forces in the field of consolidation of national defense”.
Kim wrapped a firing exercise on the North Korean army on Friday and inspected the site of a hospital, according to KCNA.
This wave of Kim's internal actions come after his visit to Beijing since the beginning of this month, for his most important international multilateral event, where he met with leaders like Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who increased his international visibility.
On the other hand, a KCNA editorial on Saturday criticized a jointly planned military exercise for the US and South Korea next week, qualifying the exercise as a “nuclear war exercise” and stating that it justifies the consolidation of the nuclear position of North Korea.
