Elimination of Hamas leaders from Qatar would open the way for the release of hostages and cessation of the war in Gaza, says Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the elimination of Hamas leaders in Qatar would remove the main obstacle from the liberation of hostages and the conclusion of the war in Gaza.

Israel aimed at the Hamas leadership in Doha by air strokes convicted by the Qatar authorities, who had previously hosted rounds for peace negotiations. Five Hamas members died in the attack, including the son of the Gaza leader, Khalil Al-Hayya, but the negotiation team and the top leadership survived.
Qatar has also announced the death of a member of his internal security forces, Reuters reports.
“Hamas terrorist bosses in Qatar do not care about the people in Gaza. They have blocked all the attempts to cease fire to extend the war endlessly.” Netanyahu wrote on the X platform.
On the other side, Hamas cataloged the doha attack as an attempt to sabotage negotiations for an armistice and stressed that he does not change his conditions for cessation of the war in Gaza.
Israel demands the release of all hostages in Gaza and disarming the group, while Hamas claims that he will not release the hostages without an agreement to put an end to the conflict and that he will give up weapons until the Palestinians have an independent state.
