The Minister of Education, Daniel David, told Digi24 on Saturday that he will resign from office if the simple motion on Education, deposited by gold, will be adopted by the Parliament.
Daniel David was asked if he would submit his mandate in the event that the simple gold deposited at the Senate will pass, scheduled for debate and vote.
“Without any discussion, yes, because I want to be very clear or I want to point two things starting from what you said. One, these measures were coalition measures. They were assumed in a governing program. Those who represent that program of government do not support them, I do not have to support them and I think, at this moment I am quiet. The resignation, I no longer have to be a minister to support a program of a coalition, who I see-or who could-not assume it anymore, “said Daniel David, quoted by Agerpres.
Daniel David added that he could only remain in office if he will have the support of the ruling coalition to move from a austerity to a reform logic.
“At this moment, I can stay to be a minister who begins to go from the reform logic, but I want to see that the coalition is with me. Or, if it is no longer with me, it is, I have done my duty, the system has been saved, I can leave,” he said.
Gold submitted to the Senate a simple motion on education, entitled “Instead of instruction and excellence, humility and training”, in which he accuses Daniel David of promoting a package of measures with catastrophic consequences on the quality of education and on the stability of the didactic profession.
