President Volodimir Zelenski announced on Friday that many of the details of security guarantees have already been rooted, adding that the Ukrainian troops would signal political support for Kiev, writes Reuters.

Special US emissary Keith Kellogg and national security counselors in the UK, Germany, France and Italy are in Kiev, Ukrainian officials said.

Zelenski, in a post on Telegram that followed the meetings, demanded that the works for completing the security guarantees be accelerated, in the context of the incursion of Russian drones in Poland.

“Russia not only does not show the desire to put an end to the war, but engages in escalation, with real threats to Europe by launching drones in Poland. That is why we have to complete the work on the elaboration of security guarantees,” Zelenski wrote.

The President of Ukraine said that the participants in discussions spoke about their experience in developing common defense within NATO, and Ukraine proposed “the common interception of all Russian targets.”

NATO reaction to Russian incursion

The Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, and the supreme commander of the Allied forces in Europe (Saceur), General Alexus G. Grynkewich, announced the launch of the “Eastern Santinela” operation, which involves dislocation on the eastern flank of additional troops from France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Danemarca, which will ensure a new response to the Russian air.

The announcement comes after two days of discussions between the Allies, as a result of the incursion of Russian drones into Poland, on Tuesday night to Wednesday. According to Grynkewich, the operation “East Santinela” is designed to provide an immediate response to any violation of the territory of NATO countries.

The operation will involve the coordination and integration of ground and air forces so that the response to threats is fast and efficient. “Eastern Sentry will be flexible and agile. It will integrate the air bases and from the ground will strengthen the alliance's posture to protect the Allied territory,” said the American general, specifying that the order on the launch of the operation has already been launched so as to ensure a complete and integrated protection.
