President Donald Trump said on Friday, September 12, that he must convince Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski to put an end to the conflict.

Trump also said, in a live interview at Fox News, that his patience towards Russian President Vladimir Putin “is running out rapidly“And mentioned the possibility of sanctions against banks and Russian oil sector, without firmly engaging.
The US president added that he must also convince Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski to end the conflict, triggered in 2022 by the Russian invasion.

Recently, Trump has announced that the US is ready to move to the second stage of sanctions against Russia, in response to the conflict in Ukraine. The American Minister of Finance Scott Bessent said on Sunday that the US is “prepared to make the pressure” on Russia to end the war in Ukraine, asking Europeans to proceed in a similar way.
Donald Trump, who took over at the White House in January with the promise to end the War in Ukraine, received Vladimir Putin at a summit in Alaska last month, who failed to produce major progress.
He suggested the possibility of sanctions against Russian banks and the oil sector, without making a firm commitment.
