Russia's ambassador to Bucharest was called to MAE after the incursion of Russian drones into Poland: “An unprecedented escalation, threat to European security”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) announced on Thursday night that the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bucharest was summoned to the institution's headquarters, to transmit Romania's position on the incursion of Russian drones into the Poland's airspace on Tuesday night.
“At the disposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bucharest was convened today, September 11, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to communicate the position of firm conviction, by Romania, the violation of the Air Space of Poland by Russian drones, during the night of September 9/10,”
According to the ministry, the Romanian side stressed that the incident represents “unprecedented escalation, with serious and large implications, as well as a threat to the security of the citizens of an ally and strategic partner of Romania”.
“This incident again illustrates the broad, severe consequences of the war of aggression carried out by the Russian Federation against Ukraine on regional stability and European security,” writes in the press release.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized the history of Russian attacks in the border area with Romania.
“Equally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reminded the Russian part about the previous attacks of the Russian forces against Ukrainian objectives, near the border with Romania. The irresponsible character of these attacks, which affects the national security and stability in the larger region of the Black Maria and the Imperative of International, has been emphasized again. Poland brought down Drone on Wednesday that entered its air space during a large -scale Russian attack in western Ukraine, the NATO member state calling the foray “an act of aggression” and marking the first collision between Russia and a member of the alliance during the war in the neighboring country.
