Russia on Friday condemned Denmark's plans to host a Ukrainian fuel facility needed for long -range rockets, saying that this move will increase the risks of escalation and will lead to more blood shed in Ukraine, Reuters reports.
The Danish government announced the plan last week, marking the first extension abroad of a Ukrainian defense company.
The Ukrainian company is Fire Point, the manufacturer of Flamingo missiles, which President Volodimir Zelenski described as the most successful weapon of his country.
The production facility will be located near the Skydstrup air base in Denmark, where it is based on the F-16 aircraft fleet.
Maria Zaharova, spokeswoman for Russia's Foreign Ministry, said in a press conference that this decision confirms the “hostile policy” of Denmark towards Moscow.
“This bet confirms the Copenhagen's hostile military course, meant to undermine the efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine by political and diplomatic means,” said Zakharova.
“This bears the risk of a new escalation and demonstrates Denmark's desire to enrich itself by continuing the bloodshed in Ukraine.”
Denmark was a constant supporter of Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion widely in 2022, and has so far contributed with 67.6 billion Danish crowns ($ 10.6 billion) in military support, according to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Europe is crowded to buy a Ukrainian key weapon after the incursion of Russian drones into Poland. “NATO countries are now looking for a solution”
