Călin Georgescu remains under judicial control / decision is final

On Thursday, the Bucharest Court rejected the appeal filed by Călin Georgescu against the decision of the District 1 Court to extend the measure of judicial control by 60 days in the file in which he is accused of several offenses, including instigating actions against the Constitutional Order. The decision is final, writes News.ro.
“It rejects as unfounded the appeal made by the defendant contestant Georgescu Călin, against the conclusion pronounced by the preliminary chamber judge within the District Court 1 Bucharest on 01.09.2025. It obliges the contestant to pay the amount of 400 lei, with the title of judicial expenses advanced by the state”, the state is shown in the court.
Thursday's decision of the Bucharest Court is final.
Calin Georgescu arrived in the courtroom on Thursday and was expected before the Bucharest Court of supporters, who met him with flags and flowers, chanted his name and asked for autographs.

Before entering the courtroom, Georgescu told the press that he attends “an abandonment of the law in favor of power, in favor of human hunters.”
“I assist in an abandonment of the law in favor of power, in favor of human hunters. I hope that the judiciary will not cancel justice in favor of power.
On September 1, at the exit of the headquarters of the District 1 Court, Călin Georgescu stated that maintaining judicial control for another 60 days and the obligation to present weekly to the police is “a total abuse against the law”.
Dozens of Georgescu's supporters gathered then at the District 1 Court and IPJ Ilfov, where the former presidential candidate arrived after the trial to sign the documents within the judicial control.
What accusations are brought to him
On May 27, the General Prosecutor's Office extended the criminal prosecution on behalf of Călin Georgescu, after the former presidential candidate reproduced to Realitatea Plus a quote from the former legionary leader Corneliu Zelea Codreanu.
Later, on June 6, he was called to the Prosecutor's Office where the prosecutors announced that they had decided to extend his judicial control by another 60 days.
Georgescu is under judicial control of February 26, having several prohibitions, including the country without approval of the judicial authorities, and is not allowed to post on the social networks with a legionary, fascist, anti -Semitic or xenophobic character.
He is being prosecuted for committing six crimes, the most serious being that of notifying actions against the constitutional order, in tempted form, being accused of setting up a plan to destabilize Romania with the help of the mercenaries led by Horațiu Potra, after the Constitutional Court annulled the results of the first tour.

- false in statements in continuous form
- The initiation or establishment of an organization of a fascist, racist or xenophobic character, adherence or support, in any form, of such a group
- The promotion, in the public, of the cult of persons guilty of committing genocide offenses against humanity and war crimes, as well as the act of promoting, in public, ideas, fascist, legionary, racist or xenophobic doctrines.
- the initiation or establishment of an anti -Semitic organization, the accession or support, in any form, of such an organization.
