The Krasnoyarsk Regional Hospital performed a complex operation to restore the jaw to a man who received severe injury when falling from an electrician. This was told in the press service of the institution.
The patient arrived with a bilateral high intra -articular fracture of the joint process of the lower jaw.
The operation was performed by the head of the Department of Surgical Dentistry KrasGMU, candidate of medical sciences Ivan Kan. Due to the strong destruction of the head of the right joint process, the surgeons had to install a metal implant that replaces the damaged bone.
The technique is called the L-shaped osteotomy of the branch of the lower jaw and the replantation of the musical process. Fragments are collected outside the wound, and then fixed in place to the jaw. On the left it was possible to assemble the jaw without implants, and on the right the head was fragmented – I had to put an endoprosthesis.
Doctors note that the number of injuries associated with the use of electric scooters and electric bikes has grown significantly recently.
