Carlos Alcaraz qualified in the quarterfinals of the US Open after defeating the French Arthur Rinderknech with a score of 7-6 (3), 6-3, 6-4.

In the first set, the Frenchman Rinderknech managed to reach Tie-Break. The service was his main weapon at that time and even had a mini-break advantage, but from 2-1 for Rinderknech, Alcaraz won five consecutive points and returned the fate of the set in his favor.

Alcaraz found his rhythm and a single break in the sixth range, was enough to get a comfortable advantage of 2-0 in sets.

The Frenchman tried to return to the third set. The score was 4-4 when the Spaniard managed the decisive break. From there, Alcaraz brought the match to the end and qualified in the quarterfinals of the US Open.

In the quarters, he will play against the Czech Jiri Lehecka, informs Sportal.rs.

For Alcaraz is the 13th quarter of the final in a Grand Slam tournament. He equalized Bjorn Borg and Boris Becker, the other two players with such performance before they meet 23 years.
