A Russian drone landed in an art museum in the center of Kharkov. Among the victims is an infant


On the evening of June 14, the troops of the aggressor country Russia carried out a drone strike on the building of the Kharkov Art Museum. This was announced by the head of the Kharkov military administration Oleg Sinegubov.

The museum is an architectural monument of the early 20th century; it was built according to the design of the architect Alexei Beketov.

According to Sinegubov, five people have been injured so far as a result of the hit. Among them are a one-month-old girl and four women aged 34, 22, 28 and 62 years old.

“The women are in a mild condition, doctors provided assistance on the spot. The little girl was hospitalized,” wrote the head of the OVA.

According to the State Emergency Service, a fire broke out as a result of the hit. The fire covered more than 1200 m².

Rescuers, utility workers, city leaders, volunteers and concerned Kharkov residents took part in the evacuation of museum exhibits.

A video was published on social networks of paintings being evacuated from the museum.

The museum has more than 25 thousand exhibits. Previously, it had already been damaged as a result of Russian shelling, writes Suspilne Kharkiv.

After Russian shelling, the paintings were removed and hidden. As museum representatives stated, the collection is one of the largest in Ukraine.
