A drone hit a residential building in Wyryki, east of Poland, but no one was injured, reports the private television station Poldat News, citing the Local Police.

Poland brought down several Russian drones on Wednesday morning that entered its air space during a large -scale Russian attack in western Ukraine, using the incursion as “an act of aggression”.

At least one drone fell on a house in Wyryki Wola, in the east of Poland, said the deputy of Inspector Andrzej Fijołek from the Lublin Provincial Police headquarters in an interview with polsatnews.pl.

“No one was injured,” said the spokesman for emergency services.

Following the incident, the roof of the building and a car parked near the house were damaged.

“An incident took place in the city of Wyryki, where a residential building was damaged. We do not know the exact details yet; we do not know if the drone itself fell on the building and damaged the roof and the ceiling, or if they were the remains of the drone,” said Mariusz Zaţko, the mayor of Włodawa county.

“From what I understood from the inhabitants, people have heard the explosion and saw Polish fighter jets. The situation is quite difficult and worrying; there is really a great concern,” the mayor added.

10 drones tracked

Poland said that on Wednesday he mobilized his own air and NATO forces to break down Drone, after an air attack on Russia over the western Ukraine, being for the first time since the beginning of the war when Warsaw hired forces in his airspace, Reuters reports. Prime Minister Donald Tusk convened an emergency meeting of the government.

The Polish defense minister, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, said Polish aircraft “used weapons against hostile objects.”

“We are in permanent contact with the NATO command,” he added on X.

The radars followed over 10 objects, and those that could represent a threat were “neutralized”, the operational command said.

“Some of the drones that entered our airspace have been shot down. Searches and efforts to locate potential collapse places of these objects are underway,” the command said in a statement.

“Act of aggression”

The Polish army said that the entry of drones into the country's airspace during the Russian attack was an “act of aggression” that threatened the safety of the public and which required the objects to be shot down.

“This is an act of aggression that represented a real threat to the safety of our citizens,” said the Operational Command of the Polish armed forces on X.

Poland informed the Secretary General of NATO about the actions taken by the country about the objects that violated the country's airspace, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Wednesday.

The spokesman of the Polish government has announced that Tusk has convened an emergency meeting of the Warsaw Executive for 08:00, local time (9, Romanian time).
