In the viewfinder of the Local Police agents in Roma Capital, the “leaders” from Fontana di Trevi, that is, a large group of 20-30 people who are posted on the streets of access to the monument area to deceive and to cook visitors and tourists, writes Il Messaggero.
Previously, they managed to disappear quickly at the appearance of patrols and uniforms. Now, in just a few hours, the local police, most of them dressed in civilian, have denounced ten people for deception and illegal gambling.
The investigation began after the authorities observed the behavior of three men, all Romanian citizens between the ages of 22 and 35, who were attracting foreign tourists mimicking false winnings.
Their specialty was “black white”. In addition to the complaint filed at the Prosecutor's Office, in their case, the seizure of a sum of over one thousand euros was also ordered, considered from the frauds committed just before the agents' intervention.
Group I Center, following the notification filed by the Trevi traders' Association (which brings together about 40 activities), has intensified and concentrated the services dedicated to combating illegal trade and microcriminity phenomena, but also for the protection of tourists of various forms of deception, at the most frequented points, both with agents and agents.
In the last hours, the agents have also requested the direct collaboration of the traders, who have made a contact to signal suspicious presence or situations.
“However, the problem,” the traders of the Trevi Association emphasizes-is that there would be a need for a fixed presence, including mixed with police and carabinieri, through continuous and targeted patrols. That is why we ask the prefect Lamberto Giannini a coordinated intervention, as is the case in the so-called red areas with controlled control. “
Local police monitor everything that revolves around the “Black Alba” game.
After repeated interventions that had managed to limit the phenomenon in other areas of the center, it was found that the mechanism involves several roles: a “manipulator”which actually leads the game, and many accomplices, the “actors”, who pretend to be ignorant players and mislead the passers -by.
