Sometimes hydrangea seems to grow well, but it blooms sluggish, there are few buds, and the inflorescences themselves are dull and loose. The problem is most often in wrong top dressing. But it is worth changing the approach, and the bush is literally transformed. We will tell you how to water hydrangea so that it bloomed magnificently and brightly.
Potassium sulfate solution
If you need fast and confident flowering, dilute 30–40 g of potassium sulfate in 10 liters of water. Pour under the root, not on the leaves. This solution enhances the formation of flowers and helps them keep the shape longer. It is especially useful in early summer, when hydrangea is only going to bloom.
Ash infusion
Wood ash is a real find for flowering plants. It not only nourishes, but also improves soil structure. Take 2 cups of ash, pour 10 liters of water and let it brew for 2-3 days. After filtering, pour under the bush. The effect appears in a week. The buds become larger, and the flowers are brighter.
Ready fertilizers
If you do not want to mess with infusions, you can use special top dressing for flowering crops. When choosing, look at the composition. Means with a high content of phosphorus and potassium are needed, but nitrogen should be a minimum. Otherwise, the bush will go to the foliage, and not in color. Such fertilizers often go in the form of liquid concentrates. Just dilute according to the instructions and pour.
Folk remedies
A weak pink solution of potassium permanganate (literally on the tip of a knife per 10 liters of water) helps hydrangea to absorb nutrients and strengthens the immunity of the plant. You can also try a banana infusion. Pour 3-4 skins with 3 liters of water, let it brew for three days and fly under the bush. This method saturates the soil with potassium, which is necessary for lush flowering.
How to change color
Hydrangees are unique in that they can change the shade of inflorescences depending on the composition of the soil. To get blue flowers, add a little aluminum alum or special sour top dressing to the ground (for example, based on sulfur). For pink color, neutralize the acidity by depositing a little lime or dolomite flour.
Hydrangea responds to care very generously. It is worthwhile to water it only a couple of times, and it will thank you with lush hats of flowers that will delight the eye all summer. Do not be afraid to experiment, but follow the dosage.
