Auto -sailor from Sosnovoborsk sold a car to a friend to avoid confiscation

In Sosnovoborsk, a drunken driving lover organized a “retroactive” car, in an attempt to avoid confiscation. This was told in the regional prosecutor's office.

It all started in May 2024, when a 32-year-old man drank alcohol and got behind the wheel of his car. The drunken driver was stopped by traffic police officers, and subsequently the court sentenced him to deprivation of rights for a year and a half and a fine of 30 thousand rubles. However, in November, the police again caught a pine tree on drunk driving, a criminal case under Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code.

Upon learning of the seriousness of the upcoming consequences, the man showed ingenuity. To save his expensive car from inevitable confiscation, he organized its urgent sale. For 1.1 million rubles, he transferred all the rights to the car to his friend. However, the court, having studied all the circumstances of the case and taking into account the position of the prosecutor, set the point in this adventure.

“The man was found guilty of driving a vehicle and sentenced him to 200 hours of compulsory work with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for 2 years,” the press service of the supervisory authority said.

In addition, the judge did not believe in history with the sale, recognizing it with a fictitious attempt to avoid responsibility. At the request of the prosecutor from the defendant, the full cost of that same car was recovered to the state’s income.
