“Russia is closing more and more in the logic of war and terror,” the French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday, after the largest air attack launched by Moscow since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, reported, according to AGERPRES.
The French president denounced on X strokes “Undescriminated, including residential areas and Government headquarters”, ensuring that France will continue to “do everything to reach a fair and sustainable peace.”
According to Ukrainian air forces, Russia has launched at least 805 drones and 13 rockets on Ukraine between Saturdays and Sunday morning, this being the biggest air attack since the beginning of the conflict in February 2022.
“These unusual extent strokes, less than two weeks after another massive attack on Kiev, are a new escalation and demonstrate, if necessary, that Russia has no intention to make peace,” said a spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski also announced that he had evoked this attack on a telephone call with Emmanuel Macron.
“We have coordinated our diplomatic efforts, future stages and contacts with our partners, in order to ensure a suitable response,” Zelenski said.
“Together with France, we are preparing new measures to strengthen our defenses,” he added.
While the diplomatic efforts of US President Donald Trump to convince Russia to accept a cessation of battles, the European supporters of Kiev, including France, are trying to convince the US to emphasize Moscow.
A coalition of 26 countries, mainly European, declares itself prepared to carry out means to provide security guarantees after a stop of battles, proposing in particular to conduct troops on the ground, provided that it covers its back.
The Romanian Minister of Defense: “There is no intention of peace in this barbarian attack”
The Minister of National Defense, Ionuț Mosteanu, claimed that “missiles and Putin's drones killed innocent people” in Ukraine.
“Last night, Russia has launched one of the most massive air attacks since the beginning of the war: over 800 drones and ballistic missiles on Ukraine. Among the targets – the Kiev Government building and residential areas. Rockets and Putin's drones killed innocent people,” Ionuț Moșteanu wrote on Facebook.
The Romanian official said that “there is no intention of peace in this barbarian attack” of Russia.
“This is the truth of the little regime: terror, destruction, war crimes. There is no intention of peace in this barbaric attack. The Kremlin wants to destroy Ukraine and intimidate Europe. We condemn these criminal attacks with all firmness,” said Minister Ionuț Moșteanu.
