A small plane that had taken off on Wednesday, from Baures, to Trinidad, both in the Beni department, 180 kilometers away, landed in the Bolivian Amazon, so that the passengers on his board were stuck in a swamp infested with Crocodli, according to the BBC.

According to the authorities, all the passengers on board – three women, a child and the pilot – escaped unharmed, being found after 36 hours of fishermen who alerted the emergency services.

One of the pilots, Andrés Velarde, told the hospital bed the moments of fear that the people stuck in the marsh passed.

“We were surrounded by crocodiles who came to us,” he told the press. Also, the passengers saw a curious anaconda, a few meters long.

The pilot explained that when the plane began to lose altitude, he looked for a plain to make an emergency landing and found only a marsh near a lagoon.

“We spent almost 36 hours without being able to sleep,” added Velarde. “We could not drink water or move because of the Caimans,” he continued.

Ruben Torres, the director of the Health Department in the Beni region, said that there were “many speculation about this case” and “many theories” after the plane's disappearance.

“I am very happy because, in the end, all the institutions have joined to find the missing people and to save these lives,” he told Reuters.
