Romania becomes a strategic point for European weapons production
The Israeli IMCO group, specialized in providing technological solutions for the military industry, announced the establishment of a new branch in Romania, according to profit.ro.
This movement is presented as marking another significant stage in the implementation of the group's multiannual strategic plan, which focuses on penetrating the European defense market and stimulating growth by increasing the production capacity, in the context of increasing defense budgets throughout the continent.
Founded in 1974, IMCO provides military and commercial products, including rockets, terrestrial vehicles, unanswered aircraft and personalized and standard systems for commercial, medical and industrial markets, having production and offices in Israel and the US.
The company is listed on the Stock Exchange in Tel Aviv and has a capitalization of 406.3 million Shekeli ($ 120.7 million), according to data analyzed by the quoted source.
The establishment of the branch in Romania aims to expand the production capacity of the group, both to fulfill the portfolio of future orders and to develop new markets.
IMCO anticipates that the new company will contribute to the group's operational capabilities in the fourth quarter of 2025, creating the necessary infrastructure to support future growth in Romania and on the European market.
The establishment of a commercial entity in a Member State of the European Union will open a broad spectrum of new business opportunities, completing growth in Israeli and American markets. This will be achieved by direct sales to new customers, as well as by capitalizing on the facility to fulfill the growing command portfolio, the company reports.
Europe is armed, and requests for rockets and drones are growing
European branch allows IMCO to operate as “Local Supplier” in defense projects throughout the continent. It also serves as a catalyst to strengthen collaborations with top platform producers and integrators throughout Europe.
Ariel Kandel, CEO of the IMCO group, said: “The establishment of our new branch in Romania is another step forward in the group's strategic plane. It strengthens our production capacity to fulfill future orders and extends our global operations.
Our presence in Romania will give us a more significant presence on the European market, allowing us to offer a faster and more flexible answer to all our customers. ”
Yoav Ben-Shem, CBO Al IMCO, added: “The opening of the branch in Romania strengthens our presence in Europe precisely at a time when the nations of the whole continent increase their defense budgets.
This movement positions IMCO optimally to expand our customer base, develop new relationships and deepen strategic partnerships with European defense industries. ”
The establishment of the Romanian branch is an important point in the multiannual strategy of IMCO to continue investing in its research and development and production infrastructure, to extend the production capacity of the group and to operate as “Local Supplier” for European projects.
This movement increases the operational flexibility by integrating local supply chains along with the performance in Israel and sets a solid basis for the future growth of the group on European and American markets.
