A four -minute video containing a discussion between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping about the possibility of people to live for up to 150 years was deleted by Reuters, after the Chinese state television has expressly requested this and canceled the permission to use the images, the news agency announced.

The video video, which also included the conversation recorded with the microphone opened during the Beijing military parade, organized on the occasion of 80 years since the end of World War II, have been licensed by the China State Television Network, China Central Television (CCTV).

The images were edited by Reuters in a four-minute video and distributed to over 1,000 media customers worldwide, including big TV stations around the world. Other CCTV's licensed news agencies have also distributed edited versions of the video.

Reuters eliminated the video from his website and issued a “elimination” order to his clients on Friday, after receiving a written request from the CCTV lawyer.

The letter mentioned that the news agency has exceeded the terms of use of its agreement. The letter continued to criticize the “editorial treatment applied to this material” by Reuters, but did not give details.

Reuters said in a statement subsequently transmitted that he withdrew the video because he no longer held the legal permission to publish this material protected by copyright.

CCTV representatives and CCTV's global division, China Global Television Network, did not respond immediately to the comment request. Even the China Embassy in Washington did not respond immediately to Reuters comment request.

Reuters rejects the Chinese state television charges

The video and exchange of replies between XI and Putin have been widely distributed by television stations and social networks around the world.

“The editorial treatment applied to this material led to a clear distortion of the facts and statements contained in the licensed flow,” wrote He Danning, legal representative of the CCTV news agency, in the letter addressed to the Reuters Agency on Friday.

“We support the accuracy of the information we have published,” Reuters said in reply. “We carefully analyzed the published material and found no reason to believe that Reuters's long -term commitment to precise and impartial journalism has been compromised.”

Putin and XI were heard, in a conversation surprised on Wednesday by a microphone, discussing organ transplants and the possibility for people to live for up to 150 years, while walking together in Beijing with Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea.

“Biotechnology develops continuously. Human organs can be transplanted continuously. The longer you live, the younger you become and even touches immortality,” Putin's translator said, while the Russian and XI leader approached the Tiananmen Square.

XI replied: “Some predict that in this century people could live up to 150 years.”
