NABU and SAP announced the exposure of the corruption scheme in the Ministry of Social Policy. Among the suspects-the ex-minister


“NABU and SAP reported suspicion of five people, including former officials of the Ministry of Social Policy, the State Pedagogical University and the Pension Fund, involved in the corruption scheme for the purchase of software for the Ministry of Social Policy, which inflicted on more than 29 million UAH losses,” the reports said.

According to NABU, in 2020–2021, the owner of a group of companies together with officials organized a scheme for purchasing software at high prices. According to the investigation materials, a project for informatization, which had already been spent on more than $ 950 thousand, had already begun in the Ministry, and created the conditions for conducting a tender for the “desired” company. For the appearance of competition, they attracted another controlled structure, the release said.

The Ministry of Social Policy entered into an agreement with a certain supplier, which led to the damage to the state budget in the amount of more than 29 million UAH, the anti -corruption bodies note.

The suspects are the former Deputy Minister of Social Policy, the head of the Department of the Ministry of Social Policy, the former deputy chairman of the State Pedagogical University, the owner of the group of companies and his employee is the ex-head of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. Their actions are qualified under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position).

The names of the defendants in releases are not disclosed, but the press service of the SAP indicated that the organizer of the scheme and the former deputy head of the State Public Relations are already accused of taking over 62 million UAH during the procurement of software for the State Pedagogical University. This case was aimed at consideration by the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court in July, the defended there-the ex-Zamglava of the State Personnel, Victor Zhora and the former head of the department, Yuri Shchigol, HromadSke reported.
