Ilie Bolojan said on Wednesday night, in the “Friendly Fire” podcast, that Romania is going to an inevitable increase in taxes and taxes, if the economic reforms promised by the Government, according to News.ro.
“If the state's expense will not be reduced, if the European money is not absorbed, if no measures will be taken to reward the work and to discourage the non, it is only a problem of time until we get to increase taxes and taxes.”said Bolojan.
He stressed that some tax increases have already been implemented in certain sectors, as part of the commitments made by Romania before the European Commission for accessing the funds from the National Plan for Redress and Resility (PNRR).
“In the agreement that Romania had with the European Commission for accessing European money from PNRR, There were also conditions related to the release of some installments, and these conditions explicitly meant the cancellation of facilities that were granted to certain sectors of activity like it, micro-enterprises to certain facilities and so on“, Explained Bolojan.
Criticizing the lack of communication between the authorities and the economic environment, Bolojan believes that the changes should have been announced in time, to avoid instability.
“When you do not consult (business people-no) and act quickly, it is clear that you create some serious disturbances and this is waiting for us, it is just a problem of time if we do not act determined to make these reforms“, Added Bolojan.
Finally, Bolojan urged a resolute and responsible action from political decision makers, to avoid long -term painful economic consequences.
