US President Donald Trump said on Friday that India and Russia seem to have been “lost” in favor of China after their leaders met Chinese President Xi Jinping, Reuters reports.
“It seems that I lost India and Russia in favor of the deepest, dark China. To have a long and prosperous future together!” Trump wrote in a message distributed on his social network TRUTH Social, published with a photo with the other three world leaders together at XI's sum.
Asked about Trump's message, New Delhi Foreign Ministry spokesman told journalists he had no comment to make.
The representatives of Beijing and Moscow could not be contacted by Reuters immediately for a comment on the message of the White House leader.
XI has hosted over 20 leaders of non-Western countries within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (OCS), in the Chinese Tianjin report, among them being Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Putin and Modi were seen holding hands at the summit as they headed for XI, before all three were standing next to it.
China also organized a huge military parade on Wednesday in which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not participate.
Heating relationships between India and China comes while Trump has tense US-India tension against misunderstandings and other disputes. Earlier this week, Trump said he was “very disappointed” by Putin, but not worried about strengthening the connections between Russia and China.
