The Wizz Air airline announced the launch of two new connections – from Katowice and Wrocław to Ohrid in Macedonia. The first planes are to start, on June 7 and 8, 2026.
Wizz Air announced that in both cases the flights will take place twice a week – from Katowice on Mondays and Fridays, as far as Wrocław – on Wednesdays and Sundays.
“Ohrid, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is often called the pearl of the Balkans. Located on the banks of the Ohrid Lake, it is famous for its crystal clear water, historic monasteries, colorful local culture and excellent cuisine, which makes it an ideal place for summer rest for Polish tourists,” Wizz Air pointed out in a Thursday communication.
The airline explained that the launch of new connections from Katowice and Wrocław is to strengthen its presence in southern and western Poland. Thus, the number of routes served by Wizz Air in Poland will increase to 208.
Connections from Katowice and Wrocław to Ohrid are to be operated by Airbus A321neo aircraft. The average age of aircraft in the Wizz Air fleet is 4.5 years.
Wizz Air announced that from January to September 2025 he realized almost 45,000. Flights of ZI to Poland, which means an increase of 19 percent Compared to the same period in 2024, he served almost 10 million passengers at that time.
