Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska during the 34th Economic Forum in Karpacz estimated that the development of wind energy is necessary, and substantive, economically and related to energy safety are supported by this. – We will not give up, because it is important for our electricity prices and for the energy security of our country in medium -term terms – said the minister.

President Karol Nawrocki informed on August 21 that he vetoed the amendment to the so -called windmill law, which liberalized the principles of investing in this form of energy on land and predicted freezing of electricity prices for households by the end of 2025. At the same time, the president announced that he had signed a draft legislative initiative regarding the freezing of electricity prices, “literally removed” from the vetoed act.

Hennig-Kloska emphasized that the government is determined to support the development of the wind energy sector.

– With current regulations, the use of new technologies and the territory available today, we are able to connect to the network of 9 GW of energy from the wind. These are the conclusions and connection agreements until 2030 – said the minister. It is about increasing the power of wind farms that can be built based on the law currently in force in Poland.

She added that in order to reach this level, the investment process should be facilitated. – These investment possibilities have increased because the technology has changed. Once, we would put less power on the same area; In a given area we can build larger, stronger windmills today – said the minister.

Hennig-Kloska emphasized that for now the development of wind energy will be carried out with the help of the ordinances. – I hope that the first regulation on repowering (the process of replacing older power plants by new power and efficiency) will go to inter -ministerial arrangements this week. And by the end of the year I would like to achieve all goals in this area – said the minister.

When asked if there would be further attempts to change the “windmill rights” using the law, the minister said yes. She did not reveal the details.

Recently, Paulina Hennig-Kloska reported that Two of the three main assumptions of the amendment windmill laws, i.e. repowering wind farms and acceleration of investments in windmills, can be realized despite the president's veto, including by changing the regulation.

So -called The windmill act, or rather amendment to the Act on Wind Power Plant investments, assumed the liberalization of existing provisions on investments in windmills on land. The amendment was to endure the 10h principle introduced in 2016 and introduce 500 m as a minimum allowable distance between new wind turbines and residential buildings. Currently it is 700 m.

In addition to the regulations regarding the construction of wind turbines, the Act included the extending provision introduced during the Sejm works for the fourth quarter of 2025. freezing the price of electricity for households at the level of PLN 500 per MWH net. Currently, freezing is valid until the end of September. (PAP)
